DESCRIPTION:Our May weekend was a sellout so don’t miss out on the October 18-20\, 2024 weekend retreat!  Please join us at the beautiful Episcopal Conference Center for our fall weekend.  Weekend information and registrations will be open in the late summer as we have a lot of planning to do first.  We’re looking forward to a weekend of relaxing and enriching activities for the Women’s Wilderness Weekend October 18 retreat! \nThe cost of the weekend\, which includes everything (food\, lodging\, classes\, entertainment) is $375.  If you get your registration in by Friday\, October 4th\, you can take the early bird discount of $25\, making the cost $350.  The $25 discount can also be donated to our Leslie Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund. \nIf you want to receive the weekend information in your email as soon as it’s ready\, contact us at WWWofRI@gmail.com.

Read the book on your own during the month. Audio books are good too. We will meet in person to discuss the book.\nSuggestions are highly welcome. At our last gathering\, the group selected the next two books and other suggestions were discussed for future events. SUMMARY:Tri-State Hike & Flower Essence May 22
DESCRIPTION:Women’s Wilderness Weekend has a tri-state hike May 22\, 10:30 a.m. to the point where RI\, CT and MA meet\, capped with a flower essence workshop nearby in Pascoag\, RI and Bring Your Own Sandwich (BYOS) lunch. \nAll women 18+ are invited to join the group at 652 E Thompson Rd\, Thompson\, CT. \nThe hike has options for beginner and moderate hikers\, allowing less ambitious walkers to complete a 1.7 mile while those with the energy can go a full 3.5 mile tri-state hike circuit. \nAfter the hike\, the group will drive to Jenza’s Garden\, South Main St.\, Pascoag\, RI 02859 for the BYOS picnic lunch and a beginners guide to Flower Essences: What are they? How do you use them? \nJenn of Jenza’s Garden has been making flower essences for several years and she will answer all these questions and more. SUMMARY:Women's Wilderness Labyrinth Walk/Hike/Craft Day
DESCRIPTION:A Women’s Labyrinth Walk and Craft Day will be hosted Oct. 18 at 80 Division Road West Greenwich\, RI by Women’s Wilterness Weekend of Rhode Island.  \n\n\nDue to the forecast of rain into Saturday\, we’ve moved the event to the rain date of Sunday\, October 18th. The forecast for Sunday looks like perfect fall weather.\n.\nLadies 18-years-old and over only\, please join us for a day of socially distant fun. This would have been the Saturday of our cancelled weekend retreat\, so we’re bringing some of our fun to a day event.  This event is free\, but we ask for $5 for the craft to cover supplies.  The events are spaced out so you can participate in all or some of them.\n.\n9:00am – Labyrinth walk\n10:30am – Leisurely hike\n11:30am – Lunch\n12:30pm – Craft\n2:00pm – Hike\n.\nBring a chair and be sure to bring your lunch\, snacks\, and plenty of water. Due to Covid-19 concerns\, participants must bring their own food and drinks. As with all our events\, this is a drug and alcohol free event.\n.\nWe’ll be outside all day so be sure to wear proper clothing and footwear.  Fluorescent orange must be worn.  We’ll have some vests to borrow and some hats to purchase.\n.\nThere are no bathrooms but there are a couple fast food restaurants one mile away if you need facilities.\n.\nDon’t forget your mask!\n.\nPut the address below into your GPS or use these directions:\nTake Exit 6A off Route 95\n– From the South\, take a right off the exit\n– From the North\, take a left off the exit\nAt the four-way stop\, make a left\nOur event is 1/2 mile down on the right. SUMMARY:Women's Wilderness Kayak Trip
DESCRIPTION:Three ladies enjoying the peace and tranquility of kayaking.  \nLadies only. Please join the ladies from Women’s Wilderness Weekend of RI for a guided eco tour with Narrow River Kayaks. The cost is $45 per person and all equipment is provided. If you’d like to bring your own equipment\, you’ll receive a $10 discount. Payments will be made at the event\, so please confirm with us to let us know you’re coming\, as there is a required minimum of 6 ladies. No prior paddling experience is necessary. \nThe trip starts at 10am. After brief instruction and orientation\, paddlers set off on an approximately 2.5-3 hour round-trip tour of the lower portion of the Pettaquamscutt Watershed\, commonly known as “Narrow River”.  A Master Naturalist will lead paddlers through either the kettle ponds at the head of the watershed or salt marsh of the John H. Chaffee National Wildlife Refuge.  As you explore the tidal flats and estuary\, witness firsthand what lives in the watershed formed by the last receding ice sheet over 19\,000 years ago and what makes is so unique.  Hear about past\, present\, and future concerns for the watershed and efforts being made to preserve the ecosystem. \nTHINGS YOU MAY WANT TO BRING:\nHat\, Sunglasses\, Sunscreen\, Footwear (water shoes\, neoprene boots\, etc.)\, Bathing Suit & Towel\, Lightweight Fast-drying Clothing\, Change of Clothing\, Water Bottle\, Drybag and/or Waterproof Phone Case\, Snack or Lunch  (If you forget something or need something when you get arrive\, they have things available for purchase.) \nBe prepared to get wet\, this is a watersport! Leave no trace. Take out what you take in! \nPortable Restrooms\, Changing Tents\, Cold Freshwater Shower/Foot Rinse\, and Picnic Tables on site. \nA waiver/release form must be completed by all participants and can be filled out at the event.
