Saturday Evening Entertainment
Ladies of the Rolling Pin have their own unique and effervescent twist on traditional Morris Dancing, which originates from the borders of England and Wales, and is known to have existed since at least the 1470s – even before the days of Henry VIII. In the early days, Morris Dancing is known to have taken place in the royal courts but as time progressed, it became common-place at fairs and markets. Affectionately known as “Rhode Island’s favorite flour-dusted tarts” for reasons that become clear after a few dances, Ladies of the Rolling Pin, based in Wakefield, Rhode Island and have been stirring things up since 1998. We have performed in the UK, Canada as well as many locations, events and celebrations in and around New England. Our mantra is “Out of the Kitchen and into the Streets”!
